Pokémon Go boosts Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire sales

The massive success of Pokmon Go has caused the sales of two older Pokmon games to rise by over 140 per cent.

In this week’s full price charts, Pokmon Alpha Sapphire made it to No.33, with sales up by 145 per cent week-on-week, and Pokmon Omega Ruby took the No.36 spot thanks to a 149 per cent rise in sales.

The two 2014 titles are also back in the Top Five of the Nintendo 3DS charts, in which 2013’s Pokmon X and Y also made a comeback, at No.7 and 9 respectively.

Pokmon Go just launched in the UK and is already the biggest mobile game in US history.Research firm App Annie reports that the title will make $1bn a year. And since it launched on July 6th, Pokmon Go has alreadyadded 7.5bn to Nintendo market value.
