PS3 rebranding continues

The impending release of the new, slimmer PS3 model has provoked a rebranding that stretches to the retail boxes.

The new style of box art will be used for upcoming releases, such as Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (pictured right). While they remain the same size, the console name is now across the top of the box rather than down the left hand side.

The logo now resembles the smoother version seen on the slim edition of the console, unveiled at Gamescom. There is also a larger space for the PlayStation Network symbol and name, emphasising any online functionality the game features.

Earlier this week, Sony boss Kaz Hirai revealed the firm was working to set a new direction for the PS3”.
