PS4 remains the favoured platform amongst European developers

Sony’s PS4 has for the second year in a row been named as the console platform of choice amongst European developers, GDC data suggests.

The GDC Europe State of the Industry 2014 Survey found that 18 per cent of respondents are currently making a game for the machine versus 13 per cent for Xbox One.

As regard to future projects, 33 per cent expect their next game to be for PS4 with 23 per cent targeting Xbox One.

PC and mobile ruled the roost though, with 58 per cent working on a PC game and 60 per cent aiming for PC with their next title. 65 per cent said they were currently working on a mobile title and 64 per cent said mobile was up next.

Surprisingly, fewer that ten per cent claimed to be currently crowdfunding a project but a massive 41 per cent plan to crowdfund in the future.
