PS4 Remote Play smartphone launches this month

A new Xperia smartphone with the ability to play PlayStation 4 games remotely is set to launch later this month, Sony has revealed.

Polygon reports on the upcoming line of Z3 devices, which support PS4’s Remote Play feature. The Z3v – Verizon’s version of the phone – will go on sale at Verizon stores on October 23rd at $199.99 with a two year contract.

Additionally, the Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact are set to arrive in November. The devices will be able to stream and play PS4 games as long as the console and smartphone are on the same wireless network.

Sony previously stated that – beyond PS Vita – the Remote Play function would be exclusive to Xperia brand devices.
