2K working on Don King game

With EA’s superb Fight Night series more or less monopolising the video game boxing scene at the moment, 2K Games is to approach the genre from another angle with the announcement of the upcoming Don King Presents: Prizefighter.

As well as beating people up, the game will see players training between bouts, working on their audience appeal and managing personal relationships. There’s no word yet on whether it will boast a ‘drink lots of beer and put on three stone between fights like Ricky Hatton’ mode.

Don King himself said of the title: "In all my years working in professional boxing, I have never seen anything come as close to recreating the thrill, the intensity, the courage, and the spectacle of the sport."

Developed by Venom Games, it’s due out in Spring next year on 360, Wii and DS only.
