Ace Combat going free-to-play on PS3

A new entry in the Ace Combat series is to dip its tailfin into the free-to-play waters.

Namco Bandai has announced Ace Combat Infinity, which will be released exclusively on PS3 as a free download some time late this year. The game will feature both single and multiplayer modes.

The Ace Combat franchise has evolved dramatically over the years, but never before have we been able to offer its amazing graphics and tactical action for free,” Namco Bandai Europe senior VP Olivier Comte stated.

The team at Project Aces listens very carefully to its players, and is bringing the best the series has to offer to Ace Combat Infinity, with plenty of new surprises too.”

Fellow free-to-play title World of Tanks is due for release on Xbox 360 later this year.
