Wwise integration now available for UE3

Audiokinetic joins Epic’s IPP

Audiokinetic has joined Epic’s Integrated Partners Program, making its Wwise audio engine easily embeddable into Unreal Engine 3.

According to Audiokinetic, Wwise is presently being used in over 85 titles in development, a ‘significant percentage’ of which are using UE3.

“Epic Games provides a leading technology in the industry. Being part of Epic’s Integrated Partners Program is an important stamp of approval for our products and our company,” said André Nadeau, president and CEO of Audiokinetic.

“It will contribute to develop the Wwise user-base worldwide, allowing more and more developers to take advantage of Wwise to create increasingly immersive audio environments and offer awe-inspiring gameplay.”

Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games, added: “We work closely with middleware providers to ensure the Unreal Engine’s ease of use with other leading tools and technology. This integration will cut down on programming time and effort for our licensees who are using Wwise, and Epic is supporting Audiokinetic directly to ensure the package is kept up to date with all the latest upgrades to Unreal Engine 3.”
