Animation firm expands operations, new branch will focus on pre-production

Axis opens new London office

Scottish services provider Axis has announced the opening of a brand new office in London.

The expansion coincides with the firm growing its remit, moving into broadcast television and theme park projects, as well as catering to games developers and publishers.

The new London studio will concentrate on pre-production work, such as concept art, design, storyboarding, pitch materials and assets. It can be found at 2 Angel Square, London, EC1V 1NY.

The Glasgow outfit will still handle the bulk of the animation work.

Jason Fairely, head of research and development, said: “Our aim is to deliver the same quality and scale seen in our game trailers to new platforms. We are moving into projects we have never done before but they will make use of the wealth of experience and talent at Axis.”

Axis has also hired a new animation director, Kan Muftic. He has worked on a variety of big name films and games, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Dracula Untold and the upcoming Marvel film Doctor Strange.
