Battlefield 1943 hits 1m downloads

EA’s digital-only Battlefield 1943 has been downloaded over one million times.

The announcement occurred during EA’s Gamescom press conference ahead of the reveal for retail release, Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Last month it was announced that the DICE-developed game had smashed day one and week on sales records on Xbox Live and PSN, and had been downloaded 600,000 times.

The new figures highlight the huge growth currently being enjoyed by the digital download space.
