Beyond Good & Evil HD confirmed

With Beyond Good & Evil 2 seemingly still a long way from release, Ubisoft has confirmed a surprise re-release for the original title.

IGN reports that Beyond Good & Evil HD, which is a 1080p reworking of the original 2003 title, will be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network next year.

Amongst the changes are redesigned character models, polished textures, a re-mastered soundtrack, Achievements/Trophies and online leaderboards.

The game is famed for being hugely popular yet not performing particularly well at retail. The sequel, which was announced in 2008, is still in development but has remained very much behind closed doors.
