Bioshock franchise surpasses 25m units sold

Bioshock Infinite has sold 11m copies and the Bioshock franchise as a whole has sold more than 25m, according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

Speaking at a conference in New York that GameSpot attended, Zelnick explained the 2K Games series has been a crucial piece for the company’s success.

"It’s a really important intellectual property for the company," said Zelnick. "It’s a really important franchise for us."

Zelnick previously revealed 2K Marin will be working on any Bioshock-related projects moving forward – following the surprising closure of the franchise’s original developer Irrational Games. At the time, the CEO stated Bioshock had a lot of upside [that] hadn’t been realized yet.”
