Blackberry loses Global Creative Director (who is Alicia Keys)

The Global Creative Director at Blackberry has left the company. That, of course, was singer-songwriter Alicia Keys.

Keys was hired by the firm in January of last year and throughout her ‘tenure’ has resided over a spectacular fall from grace for the smartphone firm that suffered a 56 per cent revenue drop and $4.4bn loss in the last year.

An official statement said: "We have enjoyed the opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented and passionate individual."

The proposed $5bn sale of the company fell through last year, with former CEO Thorsten Heins being ejected in the process.

Blackberry recently cancelled its upcoming new handset launches and Blackberry Live event.
