Blizzard working on new next-gen MMO

There was a time when a console version of World of Warcraft was considered an inevitability by many in the industry, and whilst this now seems destined never to happen developer Blizzard has finally admitted that it is working on a brand new online offering, seemingly for consoles.

The news sprang from a job listing for a lead 3D character artist and lead 3D environment artist for a next-gen MMO”. When forum speculation kicked off about the title, with most posers speculating it to be either WoW2 or a Starcraft MMO, a company rep stepped in and stated: It is an unannounced next-gen MMO. And that doesn’t mean an expansion for World of Warcraft either."

Though nothing is known of the project as of yet, ‘next-gen’ is not a term typically used to describe PC titles – leading to the conclusion that whatever is bound is destined for Xbox 360 and possibly PS3.
