Bethesda Softworks parent firm acquires Swedish studio Machinegames, it is said

Buyout brings birth of ZeniMax Sweden â?? report

ZeniMax Media has reportedly acquired Swedish developer Machinegames, as revealed by an anonymous industry-monitoring Twitter post and corresponding business papers.

The tweet, posted on November 1st, reads “Zeminax has also acquired Magnus Hogdahl’s new studio. I wonder if it will bleed talent like Starbreeze.”

The statement was then apparently verified by Swedish business records for ZeniMax, revealing a Machinegames re-branding to ZeniMax Sweden AB.

ZeniMax received $150m in funding last month to acquire new studios and this purchase, if proven accurate, would see Machinegames joining a raft of other studios recently brought by the US studio including id Software, Arkane Studios and Tango Gameworks.
