Studio now houses more than 20 employees

California developer Artillery partners with Tencent

California-based developer Artillery has partnered with Chinese online giant Tencent.

The Asian publisher has also invested money into the studio, which is developing an RTS currently codenamed Project Atlas. The amount of money involved in the deal was not disclosed.

As a result of the investment, the studio has grown to just over 20 employees. It will also be expanding the playtesting for Atlas towards the end of the year.

Artillery was founded in Palo Alto, California in 2012. At the time, the studio raised $2.5m from investors including First Round Capital, Signia Venture Partners, Lowercase Capital, General Catalyst Partners, CrunchFund, and A16Z Seed.
