Onimusha Soul the first instalment in the series since 2006

Capcom announces its first browser-based title

Capcom has announced it will make its first sortie into browser-based gaming with Onimusha Soul.

Soul, the first game in the series since 2006, is said to be a "Sengoku simulation RPG", and will allow players to fight for various feudal lords.

The Sengoku Jidai was the longest and most storied of Japan’s civil wars, and has been the subject of many games.

What sets this game apart, says GamesIndustry.biz, is its unique demon and mythology angle.

There was no release date given for the project.
