Capcom details key titles

Publisher Capcom has named its key software slate for the rest of the year and beyond and – as was rumoured yesterday – it’s Marvel vs Capcom 3 that’s leading the way.

The game, the full name of which is Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, will be a disc-based retail SKU and will arrive on Xbox 360 and PS3 in spring of next year.

We are so pleased to be working with Marvel again,” Capcom’s corporate officer and VP of strategic planning and business development Christian Svensson stated.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been one of the most requested titles for us to produce by our fans. Our Capcom development studio is creating the most epic fighting game ever developed and Marvel’s input into that process has been invaluable.”

Also announced is an Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable prologue for upcoming release Dead Rising 2. Called Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, the DLC will introduce new hero Chuck Greene. Capcom also confirmed for the first time that Dead Rising 2, which is released on August 31st, will support online co-op.

Other titles in the announcement include DS outing Okamiden, a sequel to artistic PS2, GameCube and Wii adventure Okami. That’s due out in 2011. There’s also PS3 and Wii outing Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, which is being made by Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and will be released this autumn.

Q1 2011 will see the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade arrival sequel Bionic Commando Rearmed 2.

Also on Capcom’s release schedule is Super Street Fighter IV (Xbox 360, PS3 and PC – April 30th), Ghost Trick Phantom Detective (DS – winter) and Lost Planet 2 (Xbox 360, PS3 and PC – May 11th).
