Capcom FY profit rises 3.3%

Capcom’s net income for the full year to March 31st, 2009 jumped 3.3 per cent to 8,063 million yen, the firm has reported.

Net sales increased to 91,878 million yen, up 10.6% from the previous year.

Operating income increased to 14,618 million yen, up 11.4 per cent, whilst ordinary income increased to 13,808 million yen – up 12.6 per cent.

The firm forecasts that operating income will increase to 15,500 million yen for the next fiscal year ending March 31, 2010. It also predicts that net sales will increase to 95,000 million yen in the period, and that ordinary income will increase to 14,700 million yen.

In a statement, Capcom said it would grow by ‘the steady growth of our Home Video Games business and the improvement Contents Expansion, which will be the best record of Capcom Co., Ltd and the highest sales revenue over the past four consecutive terms’.

The publisher also revealed that Resident Evil 5 has now shipped over four million copies worldwide, whilst Street Fighter IV has broken the two million mark.
