All 4 Games brand support small studios with development, marketing and promotion

Channel 4 gets into third-party publishing

Channel 4 is to open a new games publishing arm in Glasgow this summer.

Called All 4 Games, the aim is to support and showcase new mobile titles. As well as funding mobile titles, Channel 4 aims to expand into third-party publishing. The publishing arm will work with small companies to offer game development, marketing and promotional support for their games.

All 4 Games will be led by Channel 4 commissioning editor Colin Macdonald. Four new roles will also be created at Channel 4’s Glasgow office to support the brand.

“Channel 4 is renowned for working with growing creative companies and I’m delighted that we’re able to throw even more of its weight behind the games industry,” said Macdonald.

“With over 1.5m apps for users to choose from now, discoverability has become the biggest problem facing mobile game developers so it’s exciting to be able to do even more to support them and promote their amazing work to a wider audience.”
