Chris Ryan penning MOH novel

EA has announced that author and former SAS veteran Chris Ryan is writing a prequel novel for the publisher’s controversial modern day FPS Medal of Honor.

The book will be available for free to all HMV customers that have pre-ordered the game either online or in-store.

It is a real privilege to be involved in a game with such a heritage as Medal of Honor,” Chris Ryan stated.

Combining my experience as an SAS soldier in the Gulf War with missions from the videogame itself enabled me to create an authentic and respectful account of an elite soldier fighting in Afghanistan for Medal of Honor: The Book.

Bringing together the disciplines of literature and videogames has been a new but compelling experience for me as a writer, resulting in what is hopefully an engaging read for fans of videogames and novels alike.”

Medal of Honor’s executive producer Greg Goodrich added: Medal of Honor is an authentic look into today’s war. Inspired by real people and real events, the game puts players in the boots of today’s warrior – from infantry ground pounder to the Tier 1 Operator.

I’m excited to see Medal of Honor being represented in literary form.”
