Day-one PS4 pre-order cut-offs come into effect at UK retail

A number of UK retailers have begun telling customers that new PS4 pre-orders cannot be guaranteed for day one.

CVG reports that Amazon is now telling customers the following: "Please note – due to high demand, orders placed for this PlayStation 4 console from August 6th may be received after release date. We will ship orders as soon as we receive sufficient inventory."

Asda, meanwhile, is saying this: "Any customer who has placed a pre-order with Asda for a Sony PlayStation 4 console before August 5th will have their console delivered on day of launch. These amended terms & conditions are for all pre-orders placed on or after the August 5th now that Sony have suspended guaranteed day one pre-ordering."

In addition, MCV can reveal that Blockbuster stores are giving a similar warning, as seen in the picture above which was captured at the weekend.

MCV will have more news on both the PS4 and Xbox One stock situation in tomorrow’s issue.
