DEVELOP AWARDS: Unity wins top Engine accolade

Unity Technologies, provider of multi-platform engine and development tools, won the Engine award for Unity 3.5 at the Develop Awards 2012.

The awards, held annually in Brighton during the Develop Conference, recognise excellence in the video game development industry.

It’s the first time that Unity has won the prestigious Engine award.

The engine provider said this signifies “strong strides forward for the engine as a force for innovation and creativity in video games”.

“We are incredibly honoured to have been awarded top engine from the incredible team at Develop and so many of our industry peers,” said David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies.

“It’s impossible not to feel gratified that our efforts have made such a positive impact on the industry. This makes us that much hungrier to continue improving our technology and business for the future.”

At the 2010 Develop awards, Unity was awarded the Technical Innovation and Grand Prix awards.

Award nominees are selected by the Develop staff and voted by over 100 game development executives.
