160 delegates attend conference's northern debut

Develop in Liverpool heralded ‘a great success’

Last week’s inaugural Develop in Liverpool event has been proclaimed as a success by its organiser.

A new sister event to Develop Brighton, the Liverpool conference attracted over 160 industry delegates from across the UK. A wide range of companies from a number of disciplines were in attendance, including representatives from Bizarre Creations, Codemasters, Eidos, Hansoft, Nintendo, RealtimeUK, Sega and Universal Music.

”We wanted to re-create the Brighton event and deliver a conference that reflects the creativity and success of the UK’s development community, so we’re delighted that Develop in Liverpool was supported by the major players and we look forward to making it a regular date in the developer’s calendar,” said Andy Lane, managing director at organiser Tandem Events.

Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Europe’s Senior Vice President Michael Denny kicked off the event with a keynote about what the company looks for in a developer; apparently its quality, relevance, and innovation.

"It was a privilege to be invited to deliver the Keynote at this inaugural Develop conference in Liverpool," stated Denny. "The organisation, location and facilities all added up to a great event. It was a pleasure to take part and I hope to see it becoming a regular fixture in the industry’s calendar."
