Obsidian Entertainment reveals further impact of THQ closure and subsequent deal with Ubisoft

Development troubles make South Park DLC unlikely

South Park: The Stick of Truth developer Obsidian Entertainment is exploring the possibility of creating new content for the game, but it doesn’t appear the odds are in the studio’s favor.

In an interview with Polygon, Obsidian head Feargus Urquhart explained how development priorities changed for the team during the game’s publisher shakeup caused by the folding of THQ.

“I don’t know what [the new content] could be. We had always talked about it, extending the story through DLC, it was just stuff on paper, but it never went beyond talking about it,” Urquhart said.

Obsidian Entertainment is primarily focused on its crowdfunded RPG Pillars of Eternity, with talk of a sequel already beginning.
