Digital revenues soar at Future

Media firm Future has reported a significant increase in online ad revenue for the quarter ending December 31st 2010.

Digital now accounts for 32 per cent of the company’s total ad revenue, which is up an impressive 25 per cent compared to the same quarter the year before.

Future’s UK arm saw a seven per cent increase in overall advertising.

However, a four per cent drop in circulation revenue and 10 per cent declines in customer publishing revenue lead to an overall UK decline of two per cent. Overall Group revenue was down by the same amount.

In the US advertising was down six per cent and circulation down 12 per cent though customer publishing rocketed by 62 per cent, leading to a Group customer publishing revenue increase of 18 per cent.

Particular success was attributed to the company’s iOS apps and a "substantial increase" in the sale of digital magazines.
