Disney characters help teach kids to code

Code.org has struck a partnership with Disney to use some of its iconic characters to help inspire kids into coding.

The free programming tutorial, Disney Infinity Play Lab, features five characters including Frozen’s Anna and Elsa, Big Hero 6’s Hiro and Baymax and Tangled’s Rapunzel. Users can use these characters to create their own games or animated stories.

A previous collaboration between Disney and the non-profit educational organisation was said to have encouraged tens of millions of children to try their hands at coding.

Before the next school year begins, Code.org aims to add a more advanced coding environment for older students to create more complex mobile and web apps.
