Latest entry in blockbuster franchise slated for release in holiday 2016

E3 2015: Frostbite-powered Mass Effect Andromeda revealed

Mass Effect 4 has officially been announced by EA.

The game was announced during the publisher’s E3 conference. Titled Mass Effect Andromeda, the teaser trailer showed the title would take place in a completely different galaxy from the original trilogy.

Little other details were provided on the title, though it appears players may be able to select their destination and the mako from the original Mass Effect may play a large part in the game.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be powered by EA’s in-house Frostbite 3 engine. This is the first time in the series the publisher will use its own game engine, having previously licensed Unreal Engine 3 for each title.

The game is currently slated for release in holiday 2016 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
