EA confirms five new franchises

EA Sports president Peter Moore has announced that the publisher is to release five new sports franchises by 2010.

According to ShackNews, Moore confirmed in an analyst meeting that one of the five would arrive before March, 2009. This title was described by Moore as a "casual IP".

The other four were said to be among the EA Sport label’s "core IP" and will arrive by March 31, 2011.

Prior to the revelation of the new franchises, Moore said the firm hopes to focus more on unlicensed sports properties and grow the appeal of EA Sports titles outside of North America.

He added that he had noticed EA Sports’ "fail fast, fail cheap" strategy to "prove concepts quickly and efficiently”.
