EA dates its new SimCity

The latest reinvention of the SimCity franchise has been given a release date on PC and Mac.

SimCity, as EA is calling it, will be released on March 8th.

The game is powered by GlassBox which EA describes as the most complex simulation engine in its class”.

SimCity will engage an entirely new generation of PC and Mac gamers as they take charge of their own customized cities,” EA’s press blurb reads. This is a new SimCity that offers a deeper, richer game than ever before.

It has been built from the ground up to be an online connected experience, with the new GlassBox engine driving the most authentic simulation ever seen. It has a model-like look and feel that makes players want to reach in, poke, prod, and tinker around. Maxis has put the simulation right in front of the player so that they can see the consequences of their actions and really dig in to see how the systems work.

Finally, for the first time in SimCity franchise history, SimCity introduces multicity play, which brings a new dimension as players’ decisions not only affect their city, but have a ripple effect across the entire SimCity World.”
