EA secured as Titanfall 2 publisher, ditches Microsoft exclusivity – report

Electronic Arts will publish a Titanfall sequel that will likely see release on both Xbox One and PS4, according to multiple reports.

GameSpot reports on EA scoring the publishing deal, while Polygon’s sources have added the juicy bit that the IP will no longer be a Microsoft exclusive – the original Titanfall recently launched for Xbox One and PC, and is in development for Xbox 360.

"We do not comment on rumor or speculation," an EA representative told Polygon, when asked for a statement on the report. "Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying Titanfall."

A Respawn rep also declined to comment on the report.

Zampella stated last year that Respawn would eventually make games for PS4, indicating that Titanfall’s exclusivity was tied only to the first game in what now looks to be a franchise with some serious legs under it.
