Thief and Deus Ex studio cancels project, sources suggest it could have been new IP

Eidos Montreal scraps mystery third game – report

Reports have emerged that Eidos Montreal has cancelled the unannounced game it was working on.

Sources have told Kotaku that the team has ceased work on its third title, the first two being 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and next year’s Thief revival.

However, said tipsters have clarified that the next-generation Deus Ex is still in development.

There is mixed information about what the mystery game would have been. Two of Kotaku’s sources claim that the game was connected to Eidos parent Square Enix Japan, leading to speculation about a Western-developed Final Fantasy.

Another source claimed that the scrapped project would have been a new IP.
