European and PAL PS3 sales reach 30m sold

SCEE has confirmed that 30m PS3 consoles have been sold to customers – not shipped – across European and PAL territories.

This milestone was hit on Monday December 17th.

This is a major milestone for us and clearly shows just how popular the PlayStation brand and products are within Europe and the PAL territories”, SCEE president and CEO Jim Ryan stated.

We are really pleased with the success of the PS3 system over the last six years, and are committed to continuing our support of the platform with high quality products and titles that are of the calibre that PlayStation fans have come to expect.”

The newest and third iteration of the PS3 was released in September, and has been the subject of plenty of retail offers in the run up to Christmas.
