Facebook hitting PS3 today

Just a matter of hours after it was first officially announced, Sony has confirmed that the PS3 3.10 firmware update – which brings with it integrated Facebook functionality – will go live on its servers today.

The release comes just one day after Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM functionality was added to the Xbox 360.

I’ll just say that it’s been in the works for quite some time,” said Sony’s network operations director Eric Lempel told 1UP.

It’s never been easy to just integrate new content into the PlayStation Network. We’ve had this planned for a while now.”
