FF rhythm action 3DS game revealed

A new type of Final Fantasy game has been unveiled for the Nintendo 3DS.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a ‘theatre rhythm action’ title that allows players to use the stylus to tap the screen in time with musical prompts.

It still has the traditional Final Fantasy towns and dungeons, reports Andriasang, but the style and presentation is more cartoon-like and scenes resemble side-on battles of older RPG titles.

The title was revealed in this week’s issue of Japanese manga magazine Jump.

Iconic Final Fantasy characters such as Lightning and Cloud will appear in Theatrhythm but in cartoon form.

A street date for the game has not yet been announced, nor has confirmation of a UK release. MCV has contacted Square Enix for more details.
