Fighters of Capcom trademark registered

Capcom may be looking within for its next crossover fighting series.

CVG reports the company filed a trademark for ‘Fighters of Capcom’ earlier this month.

The patent was registered under "computer game software", downloadable game software", "electronic game programs for mobile phones and smart phones", "downloadable game program for playing on mobile phones and smart phones", as well as several merchandising categories.

Capcom’s catalog of fighting titles has already mixed with Marvel, Tekken, and Namco, among other properties.

Capcom Fighting Evolution is the firm’s only current offering that brings Capcom’s own fighting efforts together. The 2004 game brings together characters from Street Fighter, Red Earth, and Darkstalkers–the latter of which is getting a digital collection release on PSN and XBLA in early 2013.
