Final Fantasy XI is the most profitable ever FF title

Square Enix has confirmed that ten-year-old MMO outing Final Fantasy XI remains the profitable title in the series ever released.

Looking at profitability, it’s the top of all past Final Fantasy games,” Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada told the Vana Fest 2012 audience, Andriasang reports.

The publisher recently announced yet another expansion pack for the title, which is available on PC, PS2 and Xbox.

Wada added that if you were to add up the total playtime of all currently active FFXI players, you’ll reach a figure of over 200,000 years”.

A second Final Fantasy MMO, FFXIV, was released in 2010 but has been beset with problems from the outset.
