Free-to-play Command & Conquer set for 2014

EA has announced a free-to-play Command & Conquer title set to launch in 2014.

The publisher unveiled the title during EA’s press conference at this year’s Gamescom.

The game will adopt an episodic structure and will deliver new content and new story missions through individual episodes.

Players will also be able to expand the number of playable generals and factions within the game, in addition to other new content.

Powered by the Frostbite engine, EA says the title is a return to the strategic roots of the Command & Conquer franchise.

Whilst still in its Alpha stage of development, the game is slated for a 2014 launch and players are able to sign-up for the game’s beta period now through the Command & Conquer website.
