Activisionâ??s remaining UK studio yet to reach final agreement on its future

FreeStyleGames ‘in positive discussions’

The fate of Leamington Spa developer FreeStyleGames remains in the balance, but studio management say positive discussions with Activision continue.

Earlier this month, the studio was incorrectly rumoured to have lost staff on the eve of Activision’s financial call.

FreeStyleGames has not reported any staff cuts, though that remains a possibility.

Today the studio said, "we continue positive discussions with Activision around possible routes for FreeStyleGames.

“We have not reached an agreement as of today, however we are in continued dialogue and hope to have more news soon.”

FreeStyleGames is Activision’s remaining UK studio, following the closure of Bizarre Creations.

The DJ Hero developer is now exploring “several options” with Activision.

Activision has dissolved its Guitar Hero business, cancelled a True Crime project and announced a major restructuring operation across its global infrastructure.

500 jobs are expected to go across its business.

FreeStyleGames management today said that “messages from the industry and gamers alike have been warmly received and we are incredibly grateful for the support."
