Disney plans blockbuster summer

Major new games based around Pirates of the Caribbean and Cars 2 make up a sizzling summer line-up for Disney.

The action will kick off in May with LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, which is due on shelves as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides debuts in cinemas.

The upcoming title from Traveller’s Tales focuses on the first three films.

A 3DS version of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean was announced earlier this week – it is Disney’s first title for Nintendo’s hotly anticipated handheld.

Cars 2: The Video Game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS to coincide with the upcoming silver screen sequel, which is due to arrive in July.

The racing game is being developed by Avalanche Studios, which produced last year’s smash hit Toy Story 3 game.
