Fresh delay for Gran Turismo 5

Having been pencilled in for a March release in Japan for a few weeks now, SCEJ has retracted the speculative release date for Gran Turismo 5 and reverted back to a TBA listing, Kotaku reports.

Sony has said that a new date will be named at some stage in the future. For a game that was first announced in H1 2006 the wait for GT5 has been a lengthy one.

However, SCEE has told Eurogamer that the slip is only applicable for the Japanese market” – though a European release date has never been announced.

How any of this ties in with last September’s announcement of a simultaneous worldwide release for the game is unclear. The reality is that no-one other than those at the top of Polyphony Digital really knows when the title is likely to arrive.
