GameCity returns to Nottingham

The London Games Festival isn’t the only
big event happening this month – next week’s GameCity is courting consumers too.

This will be the fifth year of the Nottingham-based event, which has previously drawn tens of thousands of consumers to the North – and director Iain Simons expects this year’s show to be even bigger.

Around 25,000 people came along in 2009 and we’re expecting to improve on that this year,” he said.

We’re building a different way to explore video games with the public. If the industry is really serious about video games being an important part of modern culture, then we’d like to help create new ways for it to participate.”

Some GameCity events will be held in Nottingham’s market square, and are expected to see footfalls of up to 60,000 people.

GameCity 5 will take place from Tuesday, October 26th to Saturday, October 30th.
