Gamescom 2011 tops 550 exhibitors

Koelnmesse has announced that this year’s Gamescom will play host to more than 550 exhibitors.

The organisers behind the Cologne event proudly declare that this is a ten per cent increase on the 505 firms that attended Gamescom 2010.

This year’s exhibitors will be representing 40 countries – up from 33 countries in 2010. In fact, around 50 per cent of the companies in attendance will be from outside Germany.

"We are delighted with this result above all for our visitors from Germany, Europe and the world," said Gamescom project manager Tim Endres. "Trade visitors and individuals are both benefitting from the growth.

"In the business area, Gamescom now offers even more contacts and access to international market and players, while in the entertainment area, there is even more space for games and premieres."
