GC LEIPZIG: Show opens with record figures

The Games Convention 2007 has opened with record figures, including a massive increase in exhibitor numbers, general attendees and floor space.

A record beating 200,000 visitors are expected to attend in total. They will join 503 exhibitors from 31 countries – 34 per cent more than ever previously recorded.

"This year I am convinced we will have up to 200,000 visitors at the GC," said MD of Leipzig Messe Josef Rahmen.

"Last year saw a total of 183,000 visitors welcomed to the exhibition centre site. "The GC is continuing to build upon its position as the leading European fair. This year we are also expecting over 9,000 trade visitors."

In addition, approximately 2,800 journalists – from over 35 countries – are expected to attend to document the Convention.
