Koch snaps up former Rockstar chiefs studio

Koch Media has bought Austrian games production company Games That Matter.

The studio was established by Hannes Seifert and Niki Laber, founders of Rockstar Vienna, and now merges with Koch’s publishing label Deep Silver.

The development house has been renamed Deep Silver Vienna, and will largely concentrate on creating games for consoles.

With Koch Media, we found a strong partner who excellently complements our long-time experience and our new and innovative business model,” said Laber. Now we can fully concentrate on our core competencies.”

Rockstar Vienna famously worked on major licences including Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne.
