Gears 2 hits four million

Epic has revealed that Gears of War 2 has sold four million units worldwide in just two months.

The figure means that the game has performed double that of the first title, which sold through two million copies in the same period.

Global product manager Guy Welch told GameDaily: The original Gears of War was the fastest-selling next-generation game of 2006, selling more than two million units worldwide that Holiday, and now well over five million copies sold to date,” said Welch.

With Gears of War 2, the game has sold over four million units in the first two months, doubling the pace of the original.”
