Ubisoft promises Kinect support for the next wave of Tom Clancy games

Ghost Recon goes ‘hands-free’ with Kinect FPS

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has made unequivocal his company’s support for the Xbox motion controller, Kinect.

Speaking today at the Microsoft E3 press conference, Guillemot unveiled Ghost Recon Future Soldier – a ‘core’ military FPS that plays solely through the camera-based motion controller.

Players can construct, and deconstruct, a vast array of in-game weapons using hand movements and various gestures.

They too can aim and fire these weapons by positioning their arms in an expected manner.

Since Kinect’s launch last year, most releases have been suited to more casual audiences.

But Microsoft is now looking to capture new audiences with ‘core’ titles using the tech.

Earlier, EA Sports announced that its major franchises, including FIFA and NFL, will support Kinect henceforth.

“All future games in the Tom Clancy franchise will utilise Kinect,” Guillemot said.
