Giselle Elizabeth Stewart awarded OBE

Giselle Elizabeth Stewart has been awarded an OBE for her services to the games industry in the North East.

Stewart, who was also named one of the 100 most influential women in games by MCV earlier this year, had overseen the Newcastle-based studio Reflections for 19 years. She is currently the director of corporate affairs for Ubisoft.

She has made significant contributions to the industry in her roles as director of trade body TIGA, chair of the Creative Skillset Council for Video Games and an Advisory Board member for Next Gen Skills Academy.

Stewart has also played a big role in setting the agenda around skills and talent, and was instrumental in putting in place a more favorable immigration policy for the industry.
