Gran Turismo 6 name-dropped by Polyphony

Gran Turismo 5 will be released in the UK on November 3rd. There’s no way it can slip. No way at all. But let’s not count our chickens until it’s actually in the wild and sitting on retail shelves. Let’s certainly not utter mention of GranTurismo 6.

Although that’s exactly what Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has gone and done.

Speaking of the recently revealed go-karting mode in GT5, Eurogamer reports that Yamauchi told journalists at Gamescom: This is something we were actually saving for Gran Turismo 6. But the information leaked out so we decided we would just put it in this one.”

For those not in the know, GT5 is one of the most delayed games of modern times. Way back in July 2007 MCV reported the at the time unbelievable news that the game could be released as late as Q4 2008”. Two years on and it’s nearly here.

Total sales of the series passed the 55m unit mark worldwide earlier in the year.
