GT Academy downloaded 1m times

There can be no clearer demonstration of the huge appetite that remains for Sony’s much-delayed PS3 title Gran Turismo 5 than the huge success of the recently released GT Academy Time Trial demo.

The teaser game has now been downloaded over 1m times across Europe, Australia and New Zealand since it was first released on December 17th.

The download offers one track and two variations of the Nissan 370Z. Those who post the fastest lap times will get the chance to compete for the chance to race for a real life GT team.

The competition closes on January 24th.
