GT Academy gets ITV4 TV show

ITV4 is to screen a six-part TV series focusing on the real-world racing antics of Sony’s GT Academy winners.

GT Academy saw players of Gran Turismo 5 compete online for the chance to prove themselves on a real track and ultimately race for Sony’s Nissan-powered racing team. The show will follow this process.

Contestants are competing for the chance to earn a driver’s role in a 370Z GT4 at the Dubai International 24 hour race.

The first episode will be aired on February 4th at 8:00pm with repeats being shown on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.

It will be hosted by Holiday and Champions League presenter Craig Doyle while its judging panel will include the likes of former F1 star Johnny Herbert.
